the glitter of Las Vegas and the awesome wonder of
Hoover Dam, you'll find Boulder City; an unexpected
oasis of cool grass, shade trees and open, friendly
people.
The Spring Mountain Range is a
forested area not far from the glitter of Las Vegas.
An easy drive for the family, Mt Charleston has snow
sports in the winter (Lee Canyon Ski Area), a lodge
and hotel, camping and picnicking facilities, hiking
trails and more. Off State Highway 95 north of Las
Vegas. Roads are good and scenery is magnificent.
Water
Lake Mead is surrounded by an
impressive 550 miles of shoreline. Boating is a treat
12 months a year with many coves and inlets to
discover. There are several boat docking areas with
the closest to Boulder City at Hemingway Harbor. A
tree-filled campground with full facilities is a short
walk away from the wide beach. Popular water sports
include swimming, boating, skiing, sail boarding,
skidooing, canooing and kayaking. There are boat tours
and guided canoe excursions to the dam and beyond
(putting in below the dam) as well as boat rentals. 5
miles north-east of Boulder City inside the Lake Mead
National Recreation Area.
The Boulder City Parks and
Recreation Department operates and maintains an eighteen-hole,
par 72, Municipal Golf Course. The course includes a driving
range, practice chipping green and a clubhouse The 3000 square
foot clubhouse boasts a pro shop, bar and snackbar which
serves breakfast and lunch daily. Reservations for the
clubhouse or tee time are available.
